The onset of monsoon calls for easy to prepare and delicious foods to enjoy in the company of familyand friends. Mushrooms are low in calories, rich in fibre and protein and antioxidants. These make them an ideal food to boost immunity.

Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
• 2 cups white button mushrooms or cremini
mushrooms, cleaned and thinly sliced
• 2 tsp cooking oil
• 1 tbsp butter
• 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped 1 tbsp whole wheat flour
• 3 cups water
• Y2 tsp pepper, crushed
• Salt to taste
• 1.5 cup milk

Method:
1. Heat oil and butter in a pot and add garlic. Saute for one minute.
2. Add sliced mushrooms and serving: saute and cook the mushrooms till they shrink in size.
3. Add whole wheat flour and saute for a minute or till the raw smell disappears.
4. Add crushed pepper and salt to taste. Cook for 5 minutes.
5. Switch off the gas and transfer
the mixture to a blender and puree the entire mixture once it has slightly cooled.
6. Transfer the blended puree back to the pan. Add milk for extra creaminess.
7. Simmer for a minute and serve hot.
