Horiatiki Salad

Horiatiki salad or village salad or Greek salad is a very humble dish that uses fresh and simple ingredients.

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Makes: 1 serving


  • 1 tomato, cut into 8 pieces

  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced

  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano e ½ green capsicum

  • ½ cucumber

  • 10-12 black olives

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon width feta cheese block

  • Salt, as per taste


  1. Wash and dry all vegetables

  2. Cut tomatoes into wedges and add in a bowl.

  3. Add onion slices and oregano and salt. Mix to combine.

  4. Add capsicum, cucumber and olives. Mix to combine.

  5. Just before serving, add the feta cheese block on top and drizzle with olive oil.

Note: Add tomatoes in room temperature form to encourage the juices to release, give the tomatoes and occasional stir while resting
