Preparation time: 20 minutes Cooking time: 20 minutes Serves: 3 people. .Ingredients:• 2 three inch long fresh turmeric, chopped• 3 tablespoons coconut, chopped• 1h cup cooked dal moong ormasoor or toor dal• 2 tablespoons ginger garlic, crushed• 3-4 green chillies, finely chopped• 3-4 pepper corns, crushed• 1teaspoon asafoetida powder• 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped• 1 tsp oil• 114 teaspoon mustard seeds• 114 teaspoon cumin seeds• 10-12 curry leaves• 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, chopped• 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice• Salt as per tasteMethod:1. To begin, first pressure cook the dal of your choice. In a mixer blender, add cooked dal, finely chopped turmeric and chopped coconut. Add water and blend everything together well.2. Take the blended mixture in a kadai or boiling pan, add water to make the consistency liquidy. Add crushed pepper, green chillies and asafoetida powder and bring the mixture to boil. Stir occasionally.3. For tempering, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves. Add chopped tomatoes into tempering and cook for a minute.4. Add tempering into boiling turmeric and dal mixture and stir well. Add salt, chopped coriander leaves and juice of one big lime. Stir well and turn off the stove.5.
