No more pricking

Finding a non-invasive way to check blood sugar levels may sound like a miracle to people with Diabetes. However, as per a report in a the scientific journal Nanophotonics, scientists as Brown University may have just found a solution to the same by developing a biochip that measures blood sugar levels using small amounts of saliva. In addition they claimed that not only could blood sugar levels could be measured accurately by just using small amounts of artificial saliva but also were successful in developing a way for the chip to detect glucose in saliva using two enzymes that specifically react with glucose.

A step further to this would be to test this device in humans and make it available to them so that they can check their sugar levels with ease rather than prick their finger implying that this method of testing may eventually become obsolete.
