People with Type 2 Diabetes have frailer bones and an increased risk of fractures than people without Diabetes, a new study found. The study was conducted on 3149 participants in China, of which 138 participants had Diabetes. The results of the study were published in the journal Diabetes Care. The study analysed the bone mineral density and frailty index (FI) of both people with Diabetes and without Diabetes. The study found that people with Diabetes have lower bone density and have 1.9 per cent increased risk of having frail bones and fractures than people without Diabetes. Although, there was no link found between Diabetes, frail bones and hip and spine fractures.
