9th International Diabetes Summit 2025

The 9th International Diabetes Summit -2025 was organised by Chellaram Diabetes Institute from 07th to 09th March 2025 at Hotel J W Marriot, Pune. Over 70 Indian and international speakers and 125 chairpersons contributed to the success of this event. The Maharashtra Medical Council awarded 10 Credit Points to the program. The Association of Physicians of India, Pune Chapter collaborated with Chellaram Diabetes Institute for the conference.

The summit was a grand success with more than 2800 attendees. Prof C.B. Sanjeevi (Senior Scientist, Karolinska Institute, Sweden) was the Chief Guest and Prof. Kamlesh Khunti (Professor, University of Leicester, UK) was the Guest of Honour for the inaugural ceremony.

Dr V. Mohan (President G Chief of Diabetes Research at the Madras Diabetes Research Foundation) was felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

80 researchers from all over India presented free papers (Oral presentations). As in the earlier years, for the Best Outstanding Research Paper presented, Chellaram Foundation gave prizes in the Basic and Clinical Science Categories (Rs 2,00,000 and Rs 1,00,000 each). Third prize of RS 25,000 each was introduced from this year.

This year Chellaram Diabetes Institute in association with Blue Circle Diabetes Foundation had organised a Marathon - 'Run for

Diabetes' as a part of the 9th International Diabetes Summit 2025'.

Participants of this marathon included adults and children with Type 1 Diabetes. The marathon was a 3 and 5 Kms run, with people from 5 years to 75 years of age participating in this marathon.

The 9th International Diabetes Summit - 2025 is a part of Chellaram Diabetes Institute's efforts in the area of Education to tackle the escalating problem of Diabetes seen today. National and International

eminent speakers deliberating in all areas of Diabetes management offered the Indian medical fraternity invaluable insights and new perspective to understand and manage Diabetes and its complications better and as a result improve patient care in India.
