8th International Diabetes Summit 2024

The 8th International Diabetes Summit -2024 was organised by Chellaram Diabetes Institute from 15th to 17th March 2024 at Hotel J W Marriot, Pune. Over 70 speakers from India and 10 international speakers from US, Europe, Singapore and 120 chairpersons contributed to the success of this event. The Maharashtra Medical Council had awarded 9 Credit Points to the program. The Association of Physicians of India, Pune Chapter supported the conference.

The summit was a grand success with more than 2000 attendees. Prof Sunil Bhagwat (Director IISER) was the Chief Guest and Lieutenant General Narendra Kotwal (Commandant AFMC, Pune) was the Guest of Honour for the inaugural ceremony. Dr Gururaj Mutalik was felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award during the inauguration ceremony.

80 researchers from all over India presented free papers (Oral presentations). For the Best Outstanding Research Paper presented, Chellaram Foundation had announced prizes in the Basic and Clinical Science Categories (Rs 2,00,000 and Rs 1,00,000).

This year Chellaram Diabetes Institute in association with Blue Circle Diabetes Foundation had organised a Marathon - 'Run for Diabetes' as a part of the 8th International Diabetes Summit 2024'. Participants of this marathon included adults and children with Type 1 Diabetes. The marathon was a 3 Km run and over 100 participants, from 5 years to 75 years of age, participated in this marathon.

The 8th International Diabetes Summit - 2024 is a part of Chellaram Diabetes Institute's efforts to tackle the escalating problem of Diabetes seen today. National and International eminent speakers deliberating in all areas of Diabetes management offered the Indian medical fraternity invaluable insights and new perspective to understand and manage Diabetes and its complications better and as a result improve patient care in India.
