The all-American Waldorf salad first gained popularity in the 19th century at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Made with simple ingredients, this healthy version of the classic makes for a great lunch or brunch dish with a refined touch.

Ingredients

1 cup chopped red apples

50 g pomegranate

½ cup celery

1 tablespoon plain yogurt

4-5 walnuts

1 pinch freshly ground black pepper

½ teaspoon cinnamon powder

½ cup chopped pears

1 tablespoon lemon juice

½ teaspoon salt
Method

Whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, black pepper, cinnamon powder and salt in a serving bowl.

Stir in apples, pears, celery, walnuts and pomegranates.
