The benefits of green tea are well-known. A study, published in the Journal of Human Hypertension, attempted to study the effects of consumption of green tea and coffee on people with high blood pressure (hypertension). Interestingly, coffee intake increased the risk of hypertension.
However, drinking green tea of at least 150 ml per week was associated with a lower risk of hypertension. Drinking a combination of green tea and British tea had a synergistic effect in further reducing the occurrence of hypertension.
